Milliken v. Bradley

In Milliken v. Bradley (1977) 433 U.S. 267, a northern school desegregation case, the court noted that "the Court has consistently held that the Constitution is not violated by racial imbalance in the schools, without more . An order contemplating the 'substantive constitutional right to a particular degree of racial balance or mixing' is therefore infirm as a matter of law." ( P. 280.)
