Zedner v. U.S

In Zedner v. U.S. (2006), 126 S.Ct. 1976, 164 L.Ed.2d 749, the Supreme Court held that the defendant was not judicially estopped from challenging the excludability of a continuance under the Speedy Trial Act when the defendant had previously expressly waived his rights under the Act, determining that a defendant's prospective waiver of his Speedy Trial Act rights "for all time" was invalid.
