In State v. Acosta, 166 Ariz. 254, 801 P.2d 489 (App. 1990), the question before the court was whether an inventory search would have uncovered drugs that were hidden in the rear interior panel of a hatchback and were accessible only by unscrewing plastic bolts holding the panel in place and by moving a bag of rags and a jack. Id., 166 Ariz. at 259, 801 P.2d at 494. There was no evidence in the record regarding the nature and scope of the inventory search that would have been conducted. Id. Accordingly, the inevitable discovery doctrine could not be appropriately applied. See id.
