In State v. Barnes, 167 Ariz. 186, 805 P.2d 1007 (1991), the defendant pled guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia with one prior felony conviction, which was used to enhance the sentence; she stipulated to imposition of an aggravated, enhanced, three-year prison term. The supreme court concluded that Barnes had clearly understood at the time she pled guilty that she was not only admitting the facts necessary for the offense, she was admitting she had a prior felony conviction. She understood precisely what sentence she would receive if the court accepted the guilty plea. Id. at 190, 805 P.2d 1011.
