Brooks v. American Broadcasting Co

In Brooks v. American Broadcasting Co. (1986) 179 Cal.App.3d 500, the appellate court concluded the trial court's award of sanctions pursuant to section 2033.420 "was both proper and mandated." (Brooks, supra, at p. 511.) The court explained that the trial court "appropriately determined that there were no good reasons for the denial" of the requested admission, in part because counsel for the plaintiff "chose not to contest the issue at trial." (Id. at p. 512.)
