Cooper v. Leslie Salt Co

In Cooper v. Leslie Salt Co. (1969) 70 Cal.2d 627, the plaintiff's complaint failed to state a cause of action for fraud. ( Id. at p. 636.) The trial court sustained a demurrer to the complaint without leave to amend, and the California Supreme Court upheld the order of dismissal. In doing so, the high court noted that "appellant has never advanced, either in the trial court or before us, any effective allegation which he could now make if further amendment to the complaint were to be permitted. Although he insinuates multiple wrongs by respondents, he never points out in what manner those insinuations could be combined to state a cause of action." ( Id. at pp. 636-637.)
