Cronin v. J.B.E. Olson Corp

In Cronin v. J.B.E. Olson Corp. (1972) 8 Cal.3d 121, a strict liability case, the California Supreme Court specifically denied the need to define "defectiveness" for the trier of fact by introduction of evidence of some standard set by knowledgeable individuals for the manufacture and use of a particular part under scrutiny, or to have such an expert testify to something more than "his own unilateral standard" (pp. 125-126).
