Fagerquist v. Western Sun Aviation

In Fagerquist v. Western Sun Aviation (1987) 191 Cal.App.3d 709, the decedent's mentally disabled minor daughter sued for wrongful death after he was killed in a plane crash. The jury awarded her $1.5 million. (Id. at p. 713.) The court concluded the award was not excessive; the plaintiff had shown she had a special relationship with her father despite her disabilities. (Id. at p. 727.)
