In re Cheryl H

In In re Cheryl H. (1984) 153 Cal. App. 3d 1098, the court stated the rules for reviewing the evidence as follows: "It is well settled that our review on this issue is limited to whether the judgment is supported by substantial evidence. Issues of fact and credibility are questions for the trial court, not this court. 'The rule is clear that the power of the appellate court begins and ends with a determination as to whether there is any substantial evidence, contradicted or uncontradicted, which will support the conclusion reached by the trier of fact.' Notwithstanding this deferential standard of review, we find no substantial evidence to support the trial court's conclusion that it would be detrimental to return the boys to the mother.
