In In re Freddie R. (1979) 96 Cal.App.3d 829, the juvenile court ordered the time for ruling on a petition for rehearing extended to 45 days without stating any reason for doing so. The rehearing was denied on the 41st day. The order was reversed because, absent any showing of good cause, the rehearing was granted by operation of law after 20 days had elapsed.
