In re Kristin W

In In re Kristin W. (1990) 222 Cal. App. 3d 234, the appellate court reversed a juvenile court finding that reasonable reunification services were provided. The children were removed from the home because of poor personal hygiene and poor attendance at school, but the reunification plan did not address these problems specifically and did not inform the petitioner what he had to do to regain custody of his children. (222 Cal. App. 3d at pp. 254-255.) At the six-month review hearing, the petitioner informed the court that he did not know what he was supposed to be doing to participate in his reunification plan. He also requested more visitation with his children. The juvenile court declined to intervene. That failure was held "inconsistent with the requirement that the court formulate an adequate reunification plan." (Id. at p. 255.)
