In re Nancy C

In In re Nancy C. (1972) 28 Cal. App. 3d 747, the court stated there was sufficient basis to detain and question a young female about her activities after officers saw her engaged in a "prostitution stroll" after 10:00 p.m. on a public street in an area known for prostitution, although there was no basis for further detention for any prostitution-related crime once the questioning elicited no information concerning prostitution and the officers did not observe any acts of solicitation.
