People v. Carvajal

In People v. Carvajal (1988) 202 Cal.App.3d 487, the defendant consented to a police search of his truck. An officer indicated that keys were necessary to open the camper shell by saying the word "keys" in Spanish, and the defendant immediately retrieved the keys from his pocket and handed them to the officer. The court found "nothing more was required to establish the voluntariness of the defendant's consent to the search." (Id. at pp. 496-497.)
