People v. Gaio

In People v. Gaio (2000) 81 Cal.App.4th 919, the issue was whether the requisite intent was to influence a specific, particular official act, rather than any matter that could conceivably come before the official. The court held: "it is sufficient that the evidence reflect that there existed subjects of potential action by the recipient, and that the bribe was given or received with the intent that some such action be influenced." (Id. at p. 929.)
