People v. Remiro

In People v. Remiro (1979) 89 Cal. App. 3d 809, the Court found the photographing, searching, and, for a time, fingerprinting of members of the public seeking entry to defendant's trial did not violate the defendant's right to a public trial. (Id. at pp. 847-848.) The Court noted there was "no wholesale exclusion of the public from the trial" and concluded these precautions were "eminently reasonable" given the possible security risks. (Id. at p. 848.)
