Varwig v. Anderson-Behel Porsche/Audi, Inc

In Varwig v. Anderson-Behel Porsche/Audi, Inc. (1977) 74 Cal. App. 3d 578, the court reversed a summary judgment in favor of a vehicle wholesaler against the consumer. It held a fraud action would lie based on the wholesaler's representation to the selling dealer, on which the consumer relied in ultimately purchasing the car, stating that indirect as well as direct fraud is actionable.
