Examples of Florida Disciplinary Actions Against Lawyers

In Florida Bar v. Brakefield, 679 So. 2d 766 (Fla. 1996), and Florida Bar v. Rolle, 661 So. 2d 296 (Fla. 1995), the Court imposed a six-month suspension for misconduct. In Rolle the attorney was found guilty of violating rule 4-1.3 for failing to act with reasonable diligence in representing a client. 661 So. 2d at 298. Rolle had two prior disciplinary actions. See id. In Brakefield, the attorney was found guilty of violating rules 4-1.1, 4-1.3, 4-1.4(a), 4-1.4(b), and 1.16(d) for various acts of client neglect. 679 So. 2d at 769-70. Brakefield also had two prior disciplinary actions. See id. at 679.
