Florida Bar v. Walter

In Florida Bar v. Walter, 784 So. 2d 1085 (Fla. 2001), the Court dismissed disciplinary proceedings where the prosecutorial delay lasted seven years. The Court noted that, although it was a "close call," the Bar did not act within a "reasonable time" in taking seven years to file its complaint. Id. at 1087. In that opinion, the Court pointed out that the dismissal was a result of the "unique circumstances" of Walter's case.
