In Adams v. State, 178 Ga. App. 261, 263 (2) (b) (342 S.E.2d 747) (1986), the defendant had discussed the method by which he intended to commit armed robbery and drove to the location, a hotel. He was apprehended in the parking lot before he had an opportunity to find a victim. The defendant was armed with a handgun, and his face was covered with two stocking masks. The Court held that his actions constituted substantial steps toward the commission of armed robbery.
