In In Re Kolowski (1995), 48 Ill.Ct.Cl. 443, decedent was parking his squad car in the police headquarters parking lot when he suffered a fatal heart attack. Though he was not performing strenuous activities, an examination of his work records revealed that he had worked several twelve-hour shifts in extreme cold in the days preceding his death. The Court found that these factors contributed to his attack and granted an award.
