People v. Parisie

In People v. Parisie, 5 Ill. App. 3d 1009, 287 N.E.2d 310 (1972), a tow truck driver found the victim lying alongside the road with a gunshot wound. A state trooper arrived on the scene approximately 30 minutes later and noted that the victim's shirt was covered with blood. The state trooper had a conversation with the victim, who answered the trooper's questions. The victim died the following morning. One of the issues in Parisie was whether the statements were admissible under the spontaneous-declaration/excited-utterance exception to the hearsay rule. 5 Ill. App. 3d at 1026.
