Request for Interest for the Period Between Commission's Original Award and Decision on Remand

In Poe v. Industrial Comm'n, 230 Ill. App. 3d 1, 8-9, 595 N.E.2d 593, 172 Ill. Dec. 232 (1992), a workers' compensation case, the appellate court found that the trial court properly denied the claimant's request for interest for the period of time between the Industrial Commission's original award and its decision on remand. Poe, 230 Ill. App. 3d at 8-9. In support of its decision, the reviewing court noted that the trial court had remanded the case with instructions to the Commission to determine all aspects of the subject "causal connection," and that the exact amount of the employer's liability, if any, could not have been known until the Commission's decision on remand was rendered. Poe, 230 Ill. App. 3d at 8-9.
