People v. VanderVliet

In People v. VanderVliet, 444 Mich 52, 74-74; 508 NW2d 114 (1993), mod 445 Mich 1205 (1994), the Supreme Court of Michigan held that other-acts evidence is admissible under MRE 404(b) if the evidence is offered for a proper purpose under MRE 404(b), it is relevant under MRE 402, and the probative value of the evidence is not substantially outweighed by unfair prejudice under MRE 403. In addition, the trial court may, upon request, provide a limiting instruction to the jury. Id. at 75.
