In Angelo v. Angelo, 74 AD2d 327, 428 N.Y.S.2d 14 (2d Dept. 1980), Justice Hopkins' words recognized the significance of the economic partnership among married couples: "Each case must be decided on its own facts, and the Court should not be fettered in achieving an equitable apportionment of assets on the dissolution of a marriage by the iron clasp of a mechanical formula...We should look beyond the simple execution of the tax return to the circumstances of the marriage" Id. 333
