B.T. Productions, Inc. v. Barr

In B.T. Productions, Inc. v. Barr, 44 N.Y.2d 226, (1978), the Court of Appeals held that a State police officer assigned to the Organized Crime Task Force was without authority to apply for a search warrant because the Task Force itself had no authority to do so, absent the consent of the Governor and an appropriate district attorney to institute a criminal prosecution.
