Bondi v. Bambrick

In Bondi v. Bambrick, 308 A.D.2d 330 [1st Dept.], plaintiff was severely injured when she was struck by the defendant who was operating his motor vehicle while intoxicated. Plaintiff was 35 years of age at the time of the accident and lost part of one leg, underwent nine surgeries, including skin grafts, two surgeries involving removal and relocation of muscle tissue with pervasive scarring and a wound at the area of the amputation that may never heal. The court held that the "total pain and suffering award of $ 9,750,000" did not deviate from reasonable compensation.
