Fractured Right Ankle and Foot - Car Accident Injury Compensation Amounts

In Ciano v. Sauve, 42 AD3d 556, 840 N.Y.S.2d 415 (2d Dept. 2007), the plaintiff was involved in a motor vehicle accident wherein the plaintiff sustained fractures to his right ankle and foot, including a pylon fracture, a medial malleolus fracture, and a posterior malleolus fracture with displacement of several of the fractured fragments, as well as injury to the Lisfranc joint of his left foot. Plaintiff underwent four surgeries. The jury awarded plaintiff $ 250,000.00 for past pain and suffering and $ 100,000.00 for future pain and suffering. The appellate court increased the award to $ 350,000.00 and $ 375,000.00 respectively.
