Harris v. City of New York Health & Hospitals Corp

In Harris v. City of New York Health & Hospitals Corp., (49 A.D.3d 321 [1st Dept. 2008]) the First Department found that an award of $250,000 in future pain and suffering over a period of 10 years was reasonable for a 76-year-old plaintiff who sustained tears of the menisci of both knees and twice underwent arthoscopic surgery on her left knee. She thereafter walked with a cane and evidence showed that she may have required a knee replacement in the future.
