Matter of Dipple v. Devine

In Matter of Dipple v. Devine, 218 A.D.2d 918 (3rd Dept., 1995), petitioner sought to invalidate the petitions of George Devine on the grounds that the petition failed to sufficiently describe the office being sought by Devine. Devine was seeking election to the Ulster County Legislature from the 7th District. His petition indicated solely that he was seeking election to the County Legislature. The Court, in upholding the validity of Dipple's petition, held that the petition adequately described the office being sought.
