People v. Carbonaro

In People v. Carbonaro (21 NY2d 271 [1967]), the Court found consideration of the delay to be a relevant factor in assessing the voluntariness of defendant's statement, concluding that such delay was "unquestionably unnecessary" given the evidence available upon which to charge him earlier, but was properly given "little weight" in light of the overwhelming evidence of guilt, including identifications by several eyewitnesses and incriminating physical evidence.
