In People v. McIntyre, 168 Misc 2d 556, 640 N.Y.S.2d 386 (Sup Ct Kings Co 1996), Justice Rivera in dictum understood Section 520.30 (1) to limit the power of the court as to cash bail proffers consistently with defendant's theory. But Justice Rivera believed that result to be "contrary to the obvious intent of the statute" to further the need for the People to conduct broader inquiries. People v. McIntyre, 168 Misc 2d at 558 fn1, supra (dictum).
