Objection to the Prosecution's Labeling As a ''Sexual Predator'' In Closing Arguments

In State v. Campbell, 133 N.C. App. 531, 515 S.E.2d 732, disc. review denied, 351 N.C. 111, 540 S.E.2d 370 (1999), defendant argued that the trial court erred in overruling his objection to the prosecution's labeling him a "sexual predator" in closing arguments. The defendant in Campbell properly preserved the alleged error for appeal and would have been entitled to a new trial had there been a "reasonable possibility that the inflammatory or prejudicial characterization may have affected the jury's verdict."
