Jackson v. University Hospital

In Jackson v. University Hospital (1997), 122 Ohio App.3d 371, 701 N.E.2d 787, the employee was injured after burning her hand on a cup of coffee, while proceeding to the employee lounge after her shift had concluded. The Court held because the purchase of coffee after the shift was a personal choice, the employee's injury did not occur during the course and scope of her employment.
