Jasinski v. Ford Motor Co

In Jasinski v. Ford Motor Co. (Jan. 30, 1992), Cuyahoga App. No. 59760, 1992 Ohio App, the Eighth District Court of Appeals upheld the trial court's entry of summary judgment in favor of an employer and against an employee who had been attacked by his co-worker, despite the employee's allegation that the employer knew of the attacker's propensity for violence because the employer previously discharged him for criminal violence. The court found that the attacker's disciplinary action reports, which indicated a prior suspension for threatening a supervisor, failed to establish a sufficient propensity for violence to place the employer on notice of possible harm to its employees.
