Reed v. MetroHealth Med. Ctr

In Reed v. MetroHealth Med. Ctr. (Apr. 11, 2002), Cuyahoga App. No. 80044, 2002 Ohio App, the Court held that a doctor had been qualified to render an opinion as to the standard of care regarding the placement of an IV line. The doctor testified that the placement of an IV was a procedure that could be performed by several different medical professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals who undertook specialized training in IV therapy. The doctor testified that he had placed IV lines several times; thus, he was qualified to render an opinion on the subject.
