Woodward v. Glaser

In Woodward v. Glaser (1950), 57 Ohio L.Abs. 180, 93 N.E.2d 785, the Court approved the use of parol evidence to determine the intentions of the parties concerning their use of the word "tentative" in a written contract. The Court held that use of the word created an ambiguity that permitted the court to admit parol evidence "as to circumstances attending and contemporaneous with the signing of the agreement to enable the jury to determine its interpretation. In other words, in what particular or particulars is the contract tentative?" 93 N.E. 2d., at 787.
