People v. Superior Court (Levy)

In People v. Superior Court (Levy) (1976) 18 Cal.3d 248, the California Supreme Court denied the petition for a writ of mandate after the trial court ordered the prosecution to disclose the identity of a confidential informant. The Supreme Court found that the People had an adequate remedy by way of appeal. The People could refuse to comply with the disclosure order and suffer a dismissal as a consequence. The People could then appeal the dismissal order. (Id. at pp. 250-252.)
