American Masons' Supply Co. v. F.W. Brown Co

In American Masons' Supply Co. v. F.W. Brown Co., 174 Conn. 219, 384 A.2d 378 (1978), the court held that a plaintiff, who had supplied materials used by a subcontractor on a public works project, had a right of action under the bond enforcement statute against the general contractor as principal on the bond. The court reasoned that, as long as the entity to whom the plaintiff had supplied materials was a subcontractor, the plaintiff's relationship to the project was not too remote to bring a claim against the prime contractor and its surety.
