In Beard v. Beard, 53 Idaho 440, 24 P.2d 47 (1933), the Idaho Supreme Court alluded to the obligations of husbands and wives to support one another. This duty of mutual support is codified in I.C. 32-901, which provides that "husband and wife contract toward each other obligations of mutual respect, fidelity, and support."
