A Minor v. Juvenile Dept. Fourth Judicial District, Nev

In A Minor v. Juvenile Dept. Fourth Judicial District, Nev., 96 Nev. 332, 608 P.2d 509 (1980), the Supreme Court of Nevada held that the accomplice corroboration requirement applies to proceedings wherein minors are adjudged juvenile delinquents. The statute, the court stated, requires proof beyond a reasonable doubt upon competent, material, and relevant evidence that a child has committed the acts by reason of which he is alleged to be delinquent. In affirming the conviction, both the juvenile and appellate courts held that the witness whose testimony was being challenged was not an accomplice in that he did not "unite" in the commission of the crime.
