''Aggravated Promotion of Prostitution'' Definition In Texas

Aggravated promotion of prostitution - Texas Penal Code: A person commits aggravated promotion of prostitution, a third degree felony, when he "owns, invests in, finances, controls, supervised, or manages a prostitution enterprise that uses two or more prostitutes." TEX. PEN. CODE ANN. 43.04(a), (b) (Vernon 1994). To elevate this prostitution violation to second degree felony requires proof that the person engage in a combination to commit and commits aggravated promotion of prostitution. See id. 71.02(b) (Vernon Supp. 2000); see also id. 71.02(c) (conspiring to commit an offense does not elevate the seriousness of that offense).
