In Amos v. Amos, 79 S.W.3d 747 (Tex. App.--Corpus Christi 2002, no pet.), the trial court had found that, because of the kind and character of the assets--and as a result of the tax-deferred community property requiring the payment of heavy penalties, interest, and taxes associated with the withdrawal and use of the funds--that the property awarded to the wife was not sufficient to allow her to meet her reasonable needs.
