In Doshier v. State, Alaska App. Memorandum Opinion and Judgment No. 5139 (Nov. 22, 2006), 2006 WL 3387265, an unpublished case, the Court upheld the net 19-year term to serve for one count of manslaughter and one count of second-degree assault. Doshier was driving under the influence (she had a blood alcohol level of .353 percent) when she rear-ended a vehicle stopped at an intersection, killing one person and seriously injuring another. Doshier was a first felony offender with two prior convictions for driving while intoxicated. After a sentence appeal, the superior court imposed a composite 20-year term with 8 years suspended. While Doshier was on probation, she was convicted of driving under the influence. The superior court then revoked Doshier's probation and imposed 7 years of Doshier's suspended imprisonment, resulting in the net 19-year term to serve.
