Estate of Arrowwood v. State

In Estate of Arrowwood v. State, 894 P.2d 642 (Alaska 1995) the Alaska Supreme Court discussed the interplay between Evidence Rules 703 and 705(c): Although Rule 703 is meant to expand the breadth of information upon which an expert witness may rely, it is not intended merely to provide a conduit for the admission of otherwise inadmissible evidence. . . . "Close judicial scrutiny is appropriate . . . when the adequacy of the information relied on by the expert hinges on the credibility of human sources who report conventional factual information." (894 P.2d at 647-48.)
