In State v Macumber (112 Ariz 569, 544 P2d 1084 [1976]), the absolute privilege doctrine was applied to a situation where two attorneys were willing to testify that a deceased client had admitted to the murder that had been charged against the defendant. The Arizona court prohibited this testimony based upon attorney-client privilege, holding that "the privilege does not terminate at death" and an "attorney is not allowed to waive the privilege." (Macumber, 112 Ariz at 571, 544 P2d at 1086.)
