Owens v. People

In Owens v. People, 194 Colo. 389, 572 P.2d 837, 838 (Colo. 1977), the Colorado Supreme Court reversed the trial court's refusal to remit bail. In that case, the defendant's mother owed the entire amount of the bond to a bondsman as a result of the defendant's nonappearance. See Owens, 572 P.2d at 837-38. As a result, her children had to go without food and clothing so she could repay the bondsman. See Owens, 572 P.2d at 838.
