In Ahneman v. Ahneman, 243 Conn. 471, 484, 706 A.2d 960 (1998), the trial court refused to consider certain postjudgment financial motions that were before it. The Court noted that except in rare instances, a trial court may not decline to exercise its jurisdiction by refusing to consider certain motions. Id.
