Hartford Hospital v. Hartford

In Hartford Hospital v. Hartford, 160 Conn. 370, 279 A.2d 561 (1971), a hospital sought and received a tax exemption for an apartment building in the immediate vicinity of the hospital that housed residents and interns. The Court held that this property served the hospital's educational and charitable purposes because the hospital needed to have house staff available at all hours in order to fulfil the hospital's duty to its patients. Id., 371-72, 377-78.
