Borja v. Bitanga

In Borja v. Bitanga, 1998 Guam 29, the Court considered whether it had appellate jurisdiction over a denial of writ relief in a habeas matter. The Court expressed that "the specific language of section 3107 reveals a distinction is drawn between the court's appellate and original jurisdiction." Id. at P 11. "Section 3107 provides the Supreme Court of Guam with original jurisdiction over matters generally characterized as writ proceedings, including mandamus, prohibition and injunction." Id.
