In Workman v. Commonwealth, 429 S.W.2d 374, 377-78 (Ky. 1968), the Kentucky Court of Appeals held that a mandatory sentence of life without possibility of parole imposed on a fourteen-year-old defendant convicted of first-degree sexual offenses amounted to cruel and unusual punishment under the Kentucky State Constitution.
